Activities of IIIM

  • IIIM was the largest implementing partner of IBM in the learning services project in Asia Pacific region. IIIM partnering with IBM lunched Computer Education Programme in 200 schools across the State of West Bengal in the year 2002 and their performance was widely appreciated.
  • Implementing partner of MICROSOFT, BORLAND, WIPRO, TCS for solution offerings.
  • Nodal organization for computer education and IT enabled learning for West Bengal Board of Secondary Education & West Bengal Board of Madrasah Education.
  • Fully equipped publication division of IT education in vernacular language starting with Bengali, English and Urdu. Administrative Training Institute has selected books published by IIIM as there reference course material.
  • IIIM was involved in the Computer Education Project across 200+ schools of Coochbehar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, North Dinajpur, South Dinajpur and Kolkata. IIIM has set up computer Laboratories and deployed faculty members in schools in the above districts of West Bengal for imparting computer education. Employment has been given to 278 people in this project, Trained over 70,000 students.
  • IIIM has conducted Teacher’s Training Programme for over 400 computer teachers in High schools.
  • Technology Handholding with Free Software Foundation of India. IIIM is pioneer in free software in the state.
  • In the year 2008, the Madhyamik Computer Examination was flawlessly conducted by IIIM. The task was stupendous covering over 10000 students in 526 schools spread over 18 districts.
  • IIIM introduced training in communicative Arabic Language along with software application to tap the job market of Middle East Asia.
  • IIIM had 28 Advanced Youth Computer Centres across the state. This has resulted in employment of over 200 people. Over 20000 people ware benefited under this project. The students of AYCC have got placement in deferent IT organizations like TCS, CTS and others.
  • IIIM has expertise in Content Development and has developed extensive study materials which have received appreciation by the West Bengal State University and West Bengal State Council of Technical Education.
  • IIIM has conducted Capacity Building Training Programme on PC Assembling, Troubleshooting & Networking course and Secretarial Practice course in collaboration with the Dept. of Computer Science, Calcutta University, And Kolkata Municipal Corporation and in Advanced Youth Computer Centres in different Districts of West Bengal.
  • West Bengal State University has entrusted IIIM to impart Certificate in Teaching with Technology course at WBSU campus for the University office workers and 200 school Teachers of North 24 Parganas including 25 from remote Sunderban areas. The performance of IIIM has been outstanding according to feedbacks received.
  • IIIM conducted a joint Certificate in Teaching with Technology course at IIIM campus for the B.Ed. students of West Bengal State University. The performance of IIIM has been highly appreciated.
  • West Bengal Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (Under the Department Finance, Government of West Bengal) had entrusted IIIM to develop a presentation related to an initiative to propagate the development works of the State Government which was presented in the PragatiUtsab in presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Smt. Mamata Banerjee in the year 2012.
  • West Bengal State University entrusted IIIM to conduct Practical Classes of M.A. in Film Studies and Journalism course at IIIM campus in the year 2012.
  • The University of Kalyani entrusted IIIM with the development of Software for submission of online admission form, maintenance of the online admission system, Preparation of the department-wise merit lists of the applicants and preparation of the various reports from the database in the year 2012.
  • Satyapriya Roy College of Education (formerly All Bengal Teachers’ Training College) entrusted to conduct training in “Certificate in Teaching with Technology” for the B.Ed. Students. The said ICT training programme was successfully completed on 21st September 2012 at IIIM Kankurgachi Campus.
  • IIIM in collaboration with West Bengal State University developed 35 different curriculums for Management and Computer Application courses.
  • IIIM has conducted Capacity Building Training Programme on PC Assembling, Troubleshooting & Networking course and Secretarial Practice course in collaboration with the Dept. of Computer Science, Calcutta University, Kolkata Municipal Corporation and in Advanced Youth Computer Centres in deferent Districts of West Bengal.
  • West Bengal Minorities Development & Finance Corporation, a statutory Corporation of Govt. of West Bengal awarded the job of conducting Vocational Training at KIRAN Centres of Kolkata Police. In this project the students have obtained benefit of multi-farious skill development free of cost. The aforesaid programme of Kolkata Police became immensely popular and generated wide spread interest amongst the local youths of the highly sensitive and under privileged section of the community.
  • IIIM executed a project sponsored by West Bengal Minority Development and Finance Corporation to impart skill development courses especially for themarginalised section of the society. The objective of the programme was to enhance employability and empower the minority community. The programme was very popular amongst the minority segment.
  • Kolkata Police has entrusted IIIM to conduct training on Basic IT Skills to all the police officers of the Eastern sub urban Division (ESD). According to Kolkata Police, the police officers have been immensely benefitted and have been applying their skills effectively in day-to-day office work.
  • IIIM is the Teacher Training Partner of North East Regional Institute of Education (NERIE), Shillong, a body under NCERT. Basic computer training was provided by IIIM for secondary school teachers of Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh in 2012-13.
  • IIIM developed the ICT curriculum for the School Teachers Training at (NERIE), which is also approved by the West Bengal State University.
  • IIIM team, in association with NERIE, conducted a training programme entitled “Training of KRPs (key resource persons) on PC related vocational education” for the state of Tripura in Agartala.
  • In the state of Mizoram, a workshop was conducted by IIIM entitled “Training of KRPs on ICT enabled teaching-learning of Science and Mathematics” for the state of Mizoram in Aizawl.
  • IIIM conducted Training Needs Analysis (TNA) for different subjects and have subsequently come up with a curriculum, developed to address these needs.
  • Developed and implemented Software for the PBORs. Assigned by the Director, Directorate General Resettlement (East), Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India.
  • IIIM has been designated by the Director (Training), Directorate General Resettlement, Ministry of Defence, Government of India to conduct training programmes on skill development for retiring officers / personnel of Defence to enhance their qualifications and enable them to seek suitable employment after retirement.
  • IIIM is the RESOURCE Centre of spoken tutorial IIT Bombay of East and North Eastern states of India. The Spoken Tutorial Project of IIT Bombay is funded by the National Mission on Education through ICT, MHRD, Govt. of India. IIIM is pioneer in West Bengal having such collaboration with Spoken Tutorial, IIT Bombay. IIIM has not only been entrusted for promoting Spoken Tutorial project in West Bengal but also in the adjacent states like Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand and also in North Eastern States focusing on the marginalized sections of the society. IIIM is instrumental in ensuring that the learners can avail of the facility of Online test Free of Cost and receive certificates by Spoken Tutorial, IIT Bombay which will ensure better employment opportunities to the youth. More than six thousand learners have been trained till date and those who have appeared for the test, nearly 70% of them have successfully cleared the test and have been awarded certificates of Spoken Tutorial, IIT Bombay. IIIM is proud to claim that it stands among the first twenty at the national level and no.1position in West Bengal.
  • IIIM has partnered NISG to accelerate the Capacity Building initiative by taking on the task of conducting training programs as well as creating more case studies, building new content etc. IIIM allocated resources to NISG who have trained over 500 Govt. Employees across the country such as Imphal, Trivandrum, Dadra, Daman, Jaipur, Itanagar, Dehradun, Goa and Bhopal.
  • IIIM has partnered with West Bengal National University of Juridical Science (WBNUJS) to conduct Legal assistance Course jointly with NUJS where faculties of NUJS imparted the training and there is joint certification of IIIM with NUJS. Lack of education and opportunities quite often deprive the marginal people from getting their basic act together. The objective of this course is to bridge this knowledge gap and empower them with an understanding of rudiments of their legal rights and how to make use of it. Youths from Jammu & Kashmir 30 in numbers, under Udaan Project of Union Govt. anchored by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) came and underwent this training programme successfully.
  • IIIM became the State Nodal Agency for Vikaspedia portal, designed and executed by CDAC Hyderabad which is a knowledge centre with the components of knowledge creation, knowledge dissemination and knowledge  application to grow in the areas of research and development, training and business respectively. As The State Nodal Agency (SNA) of Vikaspedia in West Bengal IIIM could involve nearly 70 luminaries of distinction from a large no. of professional fields that include judiciary, administration, academics, health, agriculture and other fields. The dynamic leadership of Justice ChittatoshMookerjee and Mr. AmitKiranDeb with their involvement took Vikaspedia to a new height. Different domain expert groups were formed with persons of eminence who have expertise in their respective domains for all the six domains of Agriculture, Health, Education ,Social Welfare, Energy and E  Governance.
  • IIIM has partnered with A.K. Choudhury School of informationTechnology to jointly conduct training, software development, research, project and development to enhance knowledge based employability of students and youth in “cutting edge technology” and management.
  • IIIM has become the partner of CDAC Kolkata which is a constituent unit for development of advanced computing, a scientific society of the Dept. of IT, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Govt. of India. It is a national centre of excellence, pioneering application oriented research, design and development in Electronics, Information Technology and associated contemporary areas.
  • IIIM has been entrusted by National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC) under the aegis of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to conduct training programmes for 220 youths belonging to Backward Classes. The programme has been completed successfully.
  • IIIM has become the training partner of National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) to conduct certificate courses on Computer Concepts (CCC) and Basic Computer Course(BCC).
  • IIIM has also become the training partner of National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) as a part of Digital India  Programme which envisages to make one person in every family digitally literate.
